Baan Plai Haad
Located immediately to the north of The Serenity across a fairly narrow road is the first of the tower developments in Naklua that I cover here.
Baan Plai Haad is the first development in Pattaya from Sansiri, one of Thailand’s longest established developers, with the company’s roots stretching back to 1984. The company has been listed on the Bangkok Stock Exchange since 1996 and has completed over 158 projects during its lifetime. So, for those who are a little nervous of buying offplan and so will only buy from a rock-solid developer, Baan Plai Haad is an excellent choice, as there are few other developers active on the Pattaya market which can match Sansiri’s long track record.
Baan Plai Haad is an elegant, 31-storey, L-shaped tower – a design which ensures that all but a handful of units have excellent sea views facing either north or west. Of the two towers, the one facing north is going to offer the best views because there is nothing between the development and the sea in this direction apart from some villas. The west-facing tower will have the back of The Palm interrupting the view to a certain extent.
One of Baan Plai Haad’s main attractions is that it has its own private beach access. However, the development is a little set back from the beach, which is reached by a 10-meter wide strip of land which stretches down to the beach some 60 metres away from the towers. As a result, Baan Plai Haad is not quite in the same league as its neighbour, The Palm, which is a true beachfront development. The slightly inferior location is represented in the prices, however, which are reasonable when compared to other similar offers in Wongamat.
The development contains a total of 353 units ranging from 41m2 one-bedroom apartments which start at THB 3.4 million, right up to the stunning 154m2 three-bedroom/three-bathroom duplex penthouses which top out at a price of THB 18.2 million.
Sansiri is known for the elegance of the architecture and quality of their interior design, for which the company has won many awards over the past decade. As a result, buyers can be assured that Baan Plai Haad will be a true five-star development both inside and out. The development offers a similar range of facilities to its competitors, including a rooftop infinity pool and fitness centre, plus a jacuzzi located on the strip leading down to the beach.
Officially launched on 10 November 2012, sales at Baan Plai Haad were brisk, with over 40% of the units being snapped up by previous buyers of other Sansiri developments. With very few one-bedroom apartments remaining at The Palm and few remaining units at Wong Amat Tower with decent sea views, Baan Plai Haad would be my top recommendation for anyone looking for a one-bedroom apartment in a tower development in Wongamat currently.
